So, there’s currently a shortage of Monster Energy cans. I’ve noticed this while traveling through the hellhole that is Canada—and as The Dude would say, “this aggression will not stand.”
To verify, I contacted an associate of mine in Southern Ontario who runs a chain of c-stores. He told me bluntly what he’d been told by the suppliers at Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Limited (CCCBL): this shortage is tied to the ongoing steel and aluminum tariffs in America.
That’s right, people tariffs fucking more folks over than a $5 hooker in Las Vegas.
Hopefully this gets sorted out sooner rather than later. If Canada Post wasn’t also on strike, I’d have already moved on to ordering something else, like GamerSupps or whatever. But with the strike, even getting a fallback option shipped is a pain in the ass.
As a developer, I need my caffeine to function. But I hate coffee—the whole “hot drink” thing doesn’t work for me. My brain associates hot drinks with trying to sleep, so coffee is a no-go.
Anyway, getting off track. Where was I? Oh right—complaining about Monster’s shortage. It’s extra annoying since I’m buried in coding projects, trying to secure either citizenship or a nomad visa somewhere safer long-term.
The overwork is also why I haven’t posted as much here lately. Don’t worry, though. I’m working on it, and I should be back to 100% soon, dear readers.
Right now, I’m pushing a ton of code to GitHub to prove my value to a project that might hire me on—so I can finally get the hell out of this shithole for good.
